The 1st Africa investor (Ai) Global Trade Organization Leaders’ Summit on COVID-19, eTrade and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in March, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, convened and tasked the Secretary General’s of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Berne Union, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the World Trade Organization, to champion and table concrete eTrade, SME supportive COVID-19 response initiatives, ahead of the launch of the African Continental Free Trade Area on January 1, 2021.

Building on the first event, the 2nd Summit will reconvene the Secretary Generals, business leaders, Heads of Chambers of Commerce, SME’s and Tech investors, on the margins of the African Union Heads of State Summit on the African Continental Free Trade Area, to launch the AfricaPLC Industrial eTrade platform and ICC-Ai AfricaPLC Digitize 5 Million SME’s initiative and restate the African and Global business community’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the AfCFTA.
